BOYS U17 GREEN - STARFIRE LABOR DAY CUP - 2ND PLACE!
Tuesday, 26 August 2008 07:10
The Boys' U-17-Green placed second after a heart breaking loss to HPFC Heat 91 (P2) in overtime. The defense played an exceptional game that put the team in contention to win the tournament. In the second half, Yahir (forward), scored the tying goal, when he drilled it through the wall on a free kick to the left post. Unfortunately, HPFC responded quick in the 1st overtime, as they scored the winning goal from the top of the box.

Congratulations, for a well played tournament, this will be a good tune-up for WSYDL play.

BOYS U17 GREEN - STARFIRE Xtream Cup Champions!

The Boys' U-17-Green, win the Starfire Xtreme Cup while missing some players due to injuries and not giving up a goal in the tournament.

After reaching the semi's of the Superfleet Baker Blast, and competing at a high level against a lot of P1 teams the Boys' put forth great effort and skill in winning the cup. Martin Banuelos and Felyx Tsoi anchored a strong back line, and Marlon Nunez received the golden boot award for the tournament with 9 goals. The boys are gearing up for The Labor Day Tournament at Starfire next weekend.

EVERGREEN WELCOMES NEW CLUB PRESIDENT
Tuesday, 19 August 2008 17:43
Neal Clement resigns as Club President.  Ellen Hawks voted in as new Club President.

F
irst please join us in thanking Neal Clement for his service as Club President for the last 2 1/2 years.  His leadership during the merger with FC Silver Lake and through the difficult time of finding a new Director of Coaching, as well as managing the transition is most appreciated.  He joined the club as an assistant coach for the Shooting Stars 89's back in 2001.  Then as Head Coach, lead his ESA 92-GU12 team to a Commissioner's Cup Championship in 2005.  In 2007, this time as Head Coach of the Evergreen-Stars 89's, collected yet another trophy by winning the 2007 Challenge Cup Championship.  He received matching bookends; one with his youngest daughter and the other with his oldest daughter.  Neal's brand of volunteerism and passion for the game of soccer is what has made Evergreen a great club to be a part of.

THANK YOU! and BEST WISHES!

O
ur new Club President, elected at the August Board meeting, is now Ellen Hawks.  Another avid fan of the game and this club, Ellen has been a part of Evergreen organization for 8 years as well.  Her son, Eric, starting with Avalanche 89's is one of the graduating seniors of the very successful Evergreen Sakuda BU18 team.  She has been the club's Uniform Coordinator for the past 7 years.  Volunteering countless hours with the teams and managers, as well as Soccer West and Adidas to make sure the players are taken care of.  She is well respected and her knowledge of all the teams in the club, national tournaments, and connections with the many soccer organizations in our Region, will be a great asset to the Evergreen Soccer Club.
It is Ellen's goal to steady the direction of Evergreen through the ever-changing youth soccer landscape.
Good luck Ellen and thank you for your service to the club.
Sincerely,
Debbie DiCapprio
VP of Operations
Evergreen S.C.
